Our Yoga Teachers

Our classes are divided into various levels of difficulty. Which level you attend depends on your previous experience and current fitness level.

Gentle

Maureen slows the pace or modify the poses for those in need. This gentle class allows each participant to work at his/her own pace. If you have arthritis, mechanical back pain, multiple sclerosis, or if you enjoy exploring safe new exercise with fun loving people... then this is where you should be. Gentle class is Tuesday mornings at 9:30am.


Level 1

Level 1 is open to beginners or to people who would like to continue at a mindful and breath oriented pace. The basic poses are taught at a level appropriate for someone without previous yoga experience. It is also a good level for students who need review or want a less physically demanding class.
At times we combine our levels. For instance a Level 1-2 class is open to beginners but also offers a bit more challenge to those with some experience. We build on the poses and request that students stay within their abilities to ensure the "just right challenge". We always encourage our students to challenge themselves appropriately and rest or pause when they need a break.


All Levels

An All Levels class is open to healthy beginners and experienced students; participants are advised to stay at a level that is appropriate to them. Individuals have the opportunity to see (and maybe experience) more challenging postures but are always given options for their practice.


Level 2

This is an intermediate level class appropriate for people with an understanding of the basic yoga postures covered in level one. More flow is incorporated into the higher levels classes, and postures are held for longer periods. Also more challenging variations are offered to those who would like a challenge. A level 2-3 class is focused towards those students at an intermediate to advanced level; options are provided so that students can stay within their abilities.


Level 3

Level three is the advanced level class which is for experienced yoga students only. It is generally more physically challenging and requires a good knowledge of the basic poses. The pace is quicker in this level and incorporates more flow into the session to keep the inner heat and therefore prepares the body for deeper postures.
