YTT Graduate Testimonials
It has been a month since my 200hr yoga teacher training and I have taught 16 classes. What I have found from the yoga teacher training is that I have been taught to have full intention without expectation within my class structure as well as off the mat. I am a strong communicator because I was taught this from Therapeutic Approach. I am able to teach a class of one student or 15 students and still make it safe and adaptable for all participating. I have learned how to gently introduce my students to yogic philosophy just enough to initiate thought but not to overwhelm. Therapeutic Approach is a very special school that offers an authentic experience that is not geared to one type of yogi. This course is relate-able whether their student is a stay at home mom, a retired business man, a fresh out of college grad or a over worked professional looking for balance, all will feel a personal relationship to this course. All four of my teachers inspired with each teaching and provoked thought. I feel special for being apart of TAYS graduated students and look forward to learning more.

Hello Dear Maxine,
You asked that we think about any suggestions for the Teacher Training Program. I have taken a couple of days to think about it and quite honestly from my own experience, there is not one aspect of the program that I feel needs any improvement or addition to. I have felt that way about each weekend of training and now looking back at the journey from start to finish, I can only say that you have it down to a science. Each weekend built up to the next, the content was amazing and powerful and the teaching superb. Now that we have come to the end of weekends, I can look back and feel that it has solidly prepared me to be not just a Yoga Teacher but a teacher that has firm roots to grow stronger. I know for a fact this is not the case with all Certifications. Each of you bring something different and wonderful to your sessions and I thank you all for such an incredible experience.
I think you know how much I wanted to do this training and for such a long time. I always knew that it would happen when the time was right and this was definitely meant to be the time for me. I feel so lucky to have been in the group we had and it is nice to have so many new friendships. I love it when life just gets it right and leads to you to where you should be!
I miss you already and from the bottom of my joyful heart, a huge hug and thanks to each of you. You are all what yoga means to me.
With love and thanks,

Dear Mike, Maxine & Leslie,
I couldn't let graduation pass without taking the time to write a quick thank-you note to all three of you. The past nine months have been exceptional; all the learning and growth that has come during this Yoga Teacher Training program; the philosophy, anatomy, asana practice, meditation and so much more. You each brought your own special and unique personalities and talents and used them to inspire and encourage each and every one of us. Mike, you brought humour, lightheartedness and of course, applied anatomy. Maxine, you brought precision, a sense of calm and the ability to get us into postures that seemed impossible to do, let alone teach others. Leslie, you brought your light, enthusiasm and a lust for all things yoga. Before starting the T.A.Y.S. teacher training course, I did yoga. I got on my mat and performed the asanas. An evolution has taken place over the course of this program and I find myself living yoga on a daily basis. My heart is so much more open and willing to experience life. I attribute this to the three of you, the teacher training program and the wonderful fellow students who went on this journey with me. Thank you.
Namaste.

I loved the program, and learned a lot in a very short time. Mike and Maxine are tremendous teachers. I cannot say enough about how great they are, both as teachers and just plain good people. It has been a joy getting to know them. I highly recommend their teacher training. They are devoted students themselves, and have a well-rounded approach to yoga. They are true yogis!
It is fascinating to be a yoga teacher. I am enjoying it immensely. It is nice to feel qualified to teach, and comfortable with the knowledge. After the YTT program, I felt confident about teaching, and humbled by it at the same time. You feel you want to learn more and more personally, to enhance your own personal practice and your teaching skills.

My name is Stacey Steeves and I graduated from Mike and Maxine's YTT in 2002. The YTT course they offer is amazing!!!
Both Mike and Maxine utilize their skills and training to provide a very thorough, precise program cultivating not only an awareness of the yoga asanas but also of the philosophy of yoga.
Not only do Mike and Maxine teach yoga and the YTT they live the eight limbs of yoga in their daily lives.
Presently I am not teaching full time, only 5 -6 classes / week. One of my students, an East Indian university professor told me he had been taking yoga classes for eight years and felt he had learned more in three of my classes than all the other years. I told him he should thank my teachers. The program definitely gives you a good background in anatomy & physiology. I should know having a B.Sc. in biology as well as an RN and in recent years I have tutored university students. While not a university credit course, Mike's anatomy classes give the student a very good understanding of the body and how it performs in general as well as in asanas. With an understanding of the anatomy & physiology one can understand better why some postures are done or not done in different conditions or situations.
Many of my students comment on the safe environment I provide in my classes letting each student proceed at their own pace.
I feel Mike and Maxine's YTT course took me to another level with yoga and my life in general.
Namaste.
