108 Days of Yoga - Day 63

Bead 63. March 4th, 2013

I slept in this morning and missed my sitting practice. Monday Monday. By the time I got going I was up to my eyes in meal preparation. Luckily I was able to attend noon yoga and it was quite an intense physical pratice followed by some good yin and restorative poses. I liked the balance, just what a grumpy meditator needed after a busy morning.

108 Days of Yoga - Day 62

Bead 62. March 3rd, 2014.

Sat in an extra long meditation on this day. I felt the need to sit and do nothing. So I sat and sat and sat early in the morning before my kids needed by attention for breakfast. It felt good to sit like a rock and do nothing, just being. Later on I had lots of energy and even cleaned out my fridge.

108 Days of Yoga - Day 59

Bead 59. Feb 28, 2013

My intention yesterday was to provide support for meditation students by leading a session of meditation and study in the evening, yet this was cancelled due to the weather warning. This involved making some calls but mostly all I had to do was go to the centre in case some who might not have gotten the the message showed up. So my practice for the day was quite minimal, just the like so-called snow storm that didn't amount to much. Oh well, no snow day for the kids today.

108 Days of Yoga - Day 58

Bead 58. Feb 27th, 2013.

Mediation for 30 minutes. Yoga class at noon with Maxine. I noticed that the meditation carried over into my run at the Canada Games centre. I was far more aware of my feet and my stride after the sitting. I think its another example of fomal sitting carrying over into spontaneous mindfulness in activity.

108 Days of Yoga -Day 57

Bead 57. Feb 26th, 2013.

Yoga at the gym is a challenge, yet not impossible. Practiced asanas post cardio workout at the Canada Games Centre and notice that amidst all the dumbells and muscled up men working out I did think I was  a bit out of place doing yoga. When I got up of the stretch mat to leave I noticed someone and parked next to me and was doing plank pose with their forearms on physio ball in sphynx arms fashion. I'm gunna try that next time I'm there.

108 Days of Yoga - Day 55

Bead 55. Feb 24th, 2013.

Sitting for a few minutes after full day of yoga teacher training. In meditation I notice my eyelids falling down over my eyes, yet there is a calm lucid quality to the space around and although I am tired I manage to follow the breath with out falling asleep. I'm aware that this short practice is my practice for the day which allows me to appreciate it fully. Breath comes in, breathe goes out. Relaxed awareness. Sitting like a rock in my legs, cotton ball body and rainbow light head. Now I'm ready for bed. Good night.

108 Days of Yoga - Day 54

Bead 54. Feb 23, 2013.

I was meditating today and contemplating the half way point for this experience. One of the main obstacles we run into in meditation is laziness. For me, I seem to have no trouble sitting but I have to motivate myself to do asana practice. Either way I do notice that the increased practice time in general and the thread of continuity has been sustaining more mindfulness in my ordinary activities. This had reminded me of something that I had learned years ago in my studies at Nitartha Institute.
