Yoga Teacher Training at TAYS - 200 Hour Program Policies
Regarding the application procedure:
- Spaces are available on a first come, first served basis.
-
A $500 Deposit Fee is required to hold your space for our Yoga Teacher Training programs. This deposit can be transferred to a YTT program at a later date if your written request is received 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the training. Otherwise, this deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable.
- a) When paying in full: You may be eligible for an Early bird rate, if applicable, if FULL payment is made within the required period of time. Remaining fees are due before the commencement of the program. With the payment plan, an extra $10 processing fee is applied to each additional cheque that is processed. This payment plan option requires post-dated cheques only (no VISA or MC). All cheques must be dated before the end of the program. With the payment plan, you are still committed to attend and pay for the full YTT program. You will not receive your certificate until paid in full.
- There are NO REFUNDS from the "weekends" YTT, the month-long YTT or any of TAYS' YTT 200 hour programs once these programs have commenced.
- If you need to leave the program for a medical reason you are able to complete the training at a later date in an alternate program (space permitting). We will require a doctor's note. We will do our best to accommodate schedules and find the best plan possible. You will be charged for all components up to the date of notification and a $100 processing fee will be charged. For others interested in completing the training at a later date, for non-medical reasons, the fee is $250 + tax.
Policies regarding missed YTT time:
- Missed time: You are required to complete all 180 direct hours of the YTT program to complete your Yoga Teacher Training Certificate through TAYS.
- If you do miss time there are some options for you: If possible find out in advance, what topics will be covered and missed. Study this information whenever possible. Then upon your return, meet with another YTT participant to catch up on content. TAYS' YTT instructors will be available for questions only. You will be required to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of this missed information.
- You will need to makeup* the hours missed. If 4 or fewer hours are missed: Participants can make up a maximum of 4 YTT hours at TAYS' classes with TAYS' directors only. If up to 18 hours are missed: These additional missed hours (14 of the 18 hours) must be made up in a YTT or workshop with a TAYS' senior teacher or an approved teacher (discuss with Maxine). If more than 18 hours are missed - participants will be required to make up these hours by attending a furture YTT at TAYS or by attending a "paid for" learning session with Mike and / or Maxine at a billable rate of $100 / hour until student is comfortable with and knowledgeable about the information missed.
- Students options for makeup hours are the following*: a) attend the same missed weekend(s) of the YTT program (to obtain the same content) in an upcoming or future 200 hour YTT at TAYS. They will not be required to pay to attend this makeup weekend as this will be included in their original tuition. They will however be delayed in receiving their YTT certificate.... or b) attend and pay for a YTT 500-hour TAYS program** or a workshop taught by one of TAYS' teacher training faculty.
* Please consult with us in advance to have your make-up hours pre-approved. This policy is only valid if 18 or fewer hours are missed.
** Please note if a participant takes a YTT 500 hour weekend program as "make up" hours for their YTT 200-hour training, these hours cannot be counted again if they were to take TAYS' 500-hour level training in the future. In other words, they would be required to re-take this training for their advanced training hours.

Testimonials
Thank you to Maxine for her amazing knowledge base and wowness as a yoga teacher, Mike for his yoga-anatomy lessons and sense of humour, Cléo for her cerebral discussions and dancing, and Leslie for her smile--and helping me breathe and put everything back into manageable pieces. You are yoga rock stars! N.F. July 2015

During my Yoga Teacher Training, the emphasis placed on "providing instruction that fosters the individual growth of the yoga teacher" as quoted from the mission statement proved to be true during the course of my training. Today I can confidently teach "safe and effective Hatha yoga postures" to a growing number of students. I will continue my training with T.A.Y.S in the 500 hrs yoga teacher program. The money spent on the training came from teaching yoga classes and were well worth it. The value returned in the personal growth is not to me, measured in numbers. Particularity I enjoyed being taught by a team of excellent teachers who all bring their individual strength and uniqueness to the teaching. It is a great example how leading in a team could be the leading structure of the future.
With affection NAMASTE,

I realize that my greatest gift as a yoga teacher is to be a role model like the teachers that teach the TAYS 200hr YTT course. These individuals all embody the teachings of Patangali's Eight Limbs of Yoga and NonViolent Communication. They don't just teach it, they live it in their daily lives. This experience of being in their presence these past months have enabled me to grow not only in my understanding of the asanas and the anatomy of our bodies and how to teach in a safe environment but how to allow the teacher within to surface. I have so enjoyed all the outside reading material suggested like Byron Kati's "Loving What is" and Caroline Myss's "Anatomy of The Spirit" and many more. I am so grateful that I have chosen the TAYS YTT and to be encouraged by these caring, intelligent, personable and loving teachers.

TAYS has such a strong sense of community and connectedness. No matter my mood, I know that the teachers will hold space for whatever shows up on the mat, and they will guide me to do the same. They clearly live yoga, and they invite us to do the same; to explore what that means for ourselves, on and off the mat. Classes are thoughtful and creative, joyful and wholehearted. Love it!

The TAYS 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training changed my life. I learned more than I ever thought possible - and to teach yoga too!
Each of the YTT teachers brings such thought, warmth, encouragement and dedication to the training of yoga teachers, and infuses it with their own particular skill, so the whole experience is one of full, rich learning. 10 months seems like a long time, but you won't want it to end.
